Kristin Regel

Kristin has practiced law in Texas since 1997. She grew up an “army brat”: Her father retired as a full colonel after a career of service. She was born in Alexandria, Virginia when he was stationed at the Pentagon. She then went on to live on the Azores Islands, all over the South of the United States, in Guadalajara, Mexico and in Buenos Aires, Argentina before landing in Texas. She is fluent in Spanish.

Ms. Regel graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in Texas and joined Thompson Coe Cousins and Irons (now Thompson Coe) in Dallas, Texas as a litigator. For nearly the next decade she worked with Texas and national law firms as a commercial litigator and trial lawyer. For DeHay & Ellison L.P., she helped try the first case out of the Texas asbestos MDL (Multi District Litigation) to a defense verdict.

In 2006, Ms. Regel opened her own firm representing individuals and companies in immigration matters to include all types of family and employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant visas. She is experienced in consular and stateside waivers, TPS, DACA, advanced parole, naturalization and many other areas of immigration and nationality law. She also handled complex commercial matters, which have included the defense and prosecution of breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, other intra-corporate disputes, defamation, and interference with contracts causes of action.

For example, she was lead counsel for ex-CEO and founder of a quasi-public company charged with breach of fiduciary duty and contract in California Superior Court Orange County. She has been Texas counsel for a public Australian company in a matter involving allegations of breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, and tortious interference of contract.

In 2013, Ms. Regel joined the Law Offices of Ken Wincorn & Associates PC assisting with its immigration department and eventually heading up its growing civil litigation section, trying commercial cases and resolving multiple wrongful death personal injury matters. In September 2018, she joined the Denney Law Group as its senior commercial attorney to combine her love of the hospitality industry and the practice of law. She was involved with a $70 Million arbitration award against a Chinese entity, later was affirmed by the 5th circuit.

Since April 2020, she has focused primarily on her immigration law practice and helping commercial tenants and landlords during the COVID-19 crisis.

Ms. Regel is has been an invited faculty member with the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) since 2011 and also teaches in the Dallas Bar Association Trial Advocacy sessions.

She has two sons who attend Highland Park Middle School.
